EGC Policy Statement
PROTECTION OF CHILDREN WITHIN OUR CARE
EGC promotes good and safe practice in its protection of children and endeavours to ensure that all girls involved are cared for in a safe, sympathetic, responsible and happy environment at all times.
POLICY PRINCIPLES
We aim to create:
- An environment that is responsive to children’s emotional and physical needs.
- A safe and caring environment in which the child’s welfare is paramount.
- An environment where children feel safe and secure in discussing their feelings and concerns.
We believe:
- All children have a right to protection from abuse and discrimination. We will ensure they receive equal treatment regardless of age, race, culture, religion, language or ability.
- All coaches and adults representing this organisation should be aware of our policy and procedures regarding child abuse and the protection of children.
We will continue to work closely with the governing bodies of golf and are committed to endorsing their Policy statement set out below.
’Coaches and anyone else involved with golf for children and young people have a responsibility to become informed about the different forms of child abuse, how to recognise it and what steps to take to prevent it'
